She was a member of Lakoda Rayne, a country pop group that was formed by Paula Abdul during the first season of The X Factor. In the year 2015, she released "Love Sick", her debut single. In May of 2019 her debut EP The Way Out was released. Orrantia began singing when she was nine and began professional training at twelve. When she was 13, she wrote her first single. At the age of 13, she wrote her first song. Orrantia auditioned during the summer 2011 to be a participant of the very first season of The X Factor. Orrantia was selected from a YouTube submission , and received four votes of approbation from judges on the live auditions in Seattle. She originally auditioned solo but later, at Hollywood Week she was paired with three other female vocalists and placed in an ensemble for the rest of the audition

Her first big role came in the film horror Scream in the year 1996. The film was followed by film Jawbreaker (1999) as well as Devil in the Flesh (2000). McGowan was most well-known for her part in Charmed the supernatural drama on WB from 2001 until the year 2006. McGowan also appeared in Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's double-feature film Grindhouse (2007) which for which she received nominations both for the Saturn Award as Best Actress as well as the Scream Award as Best Scream Queen. In 2014, she was a part in Chosen, an action-thriller television series. The actress dropped Planet 9, her first album as a studio artist in the year 2
