Kyra Minturn
KyraMinturn Sedgwick, born 19th August 1965, is an American actress. Her starring role on the crime drama TNT The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most well-known. For her portrayal of Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. After the end of the seventh season, the series was cancelled on the 13th of August, 2012. Sedgwick's recurring role of Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also notable. Sedgwick received a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Madeline Wuntch on Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film credits include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000), What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The actress also appeared in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was an New York City native, the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald) who was teacher and family therapist as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick VI, an investor in venture capital. Her mother was Jewish and her father was an Episcopalian. Sedgwick was of English heritage. Sedgwick has stated that she is Jewish and has said that she participates in Passover seders.
